Big Leap of Sound Clarity for Shilin Truth Lutheran Church

15 May 2019: Shilin Truth Lutheran Church 台灣信義會士林真理堂 is a rapid growing mission-based church located in Shilin district in Taipei — the capital city of Taiwan. The church has served both the local and overseas communities in various aspects — from medical missions to disaster reliefs and responses since its establishment in 2000.

Back in the church, its 200 seating capacity main worship hall is located in the building's basement with many angles, corners, and a low ceiling. “The acoustic of the hall is tricky and for many years it has been a challenge for us in getting the right sound although so much has been done in terms of the sound system and acoustics over the years”, says Mark Wang, Music Producer/PIC — P&W Department. “Our existing sound system consists of eight units of FOH loudspeakers, one subwoofer, three floor monitors, and multiple units of power amplifiers”, he elaborates further.

This year the church has turned to GECKO® for assistance in finding a solution for the worship hall. “With the new setup, we could now hear every single detail. Every part of the vocal and instrument performance can be heard evenly on stage and across the entire sanctuary. The sound is not jarring to the ears and the improvement of hall's sound clarity is superb! Mixing live sound is a lot easier now for our crews”.
