17 Jan 2017: Saint Stephen's Parish is the Episcopal Diocese of the Central Philippines' Pro-Cathedral serving the Chinese communities located in Santa Cruz, Manila in the Philippines. It was established in 1903.
Recently the church has gone through a major sound system upgrade for the church's main sanctuary, Yutiam Memorial Hall, and Glory Hall. The main sanctuary of Saint Stephen's Parish accommodates up to 1000 pax of seating capacity, while the Yutiam Memorial Hall and Glory Hall take up to 200 pax and 500 pax respectively.
The GECKO® C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® sound systems are chosen for these halls due to their ability to reproduce fantastic intelligibility, clean natural tone, even sound coverage, ease of setup and operation, all in a minimalist design in the existing halls' acoustics. Their high-efficiency designs with a corrected power-factor and good signal-to-gain ratio are also eliminating the feedback or "howling" phenomenon without the use of any DSP suppressor.
GECKO® C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile equipment used for the Saint Stephen's Parish main sanctuary are:
For Yutiam Memorial Hall, the system consisting of a pair of REVELATION SR 606R 6.5” loudspeakers and driven by a unit of EXODUS ATOM MXR 1208A C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile powered mixing console. While the Glory Hall is now equipped with a pair of GECKO® REVELATION SR 615RF 15” C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile loudspeakers, driven by one unit of GECKO® GENESIS ELEGANCE AGE 900H 16-tier Class-H C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile power amplifier with line-replaceable unit (LRU) design. Sitting in the system's center is the GECKO® EXODUS ALPHA MXR 1800 C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile mixing console. “With these new designs, we are able to achieve clarity and even volume coverage throughout the sanctuary, from the ground floor to the balcony. It makes our live mixing experience much simpler too”, says Luisito, Senior Sound Tech of St. Stephen's Parish.
